Video card intel gma 95011/9/2022 ![]() ![]() There are two SATA power and two SATA data connections in the case. Overall Review: This is for my brother in law for when he starts college (build size should be great for the dorms). But, it's no louder than my desktop is, so, when I say loud, I mean a persistent buzz, not something so loud it interferes with listening to a movie/music. The rear fan could be replaced with a quieter one in my opinion. Runs smooth with free Avast! anti virus in the background.Ĭons: A little loud sometimes. ![]() This isn't a con, I didn't expect it to be able to. ![]() YouTube streamed fine over my 7Mbit DSL, but Hulu had stuttering problems. It plays DVDs fine (with the DVD player I installed) and handles. The processor was also able to solve a number of recursive formulas in MathCAD that a chemical engineering friend of my had written. It took just over twice as long as my Desktop, but my Desktop has more/faster RAM and a dual core processor with more Mhz. The processor was able to handle some Bayesian/Non-Parametric statistics predicting last years Presidential Election that I coded in R. Pros: A lot quicker than I thought it would be! Small! Not so small that my big hands can't fit in, but acceptably small. Windows XP SP3 runs extremely well, just as the MSI's brethren MSI Wind PC Notebook or ASUS Eee of the same generation. BIOS is very lacking in features, but to be expected. (Next great CarPC?) There is an externally accessible SD/MMC/MS/XD slot on the front next to the USB ports. CF slot is for builds specifically without a 3.5" HDD. Overall Review: The *CF Slot* is *Internal* and not accessible externally. No DVI-out (chipset limitation I believe). miniPCIe should use spring-loaded brackets like the 200-pin DIMM slot for memory. Had to dig up an old videocard mount screw to properly mount my Intel 4965AGN miniPCIe card into it. No miniPCIe "screw" included to properly mount a miniPCIe device into the bay. Headphone/Speaker & Mic jacks up front are nice along with 6 USB ports total.Ĭons: PDF manual neglects to tell you that you need to remove the two screws on the front also, not only the back, to take the media-caddy/tray out to install 5.25" and 3.5" drives. ![]() Currently have an Intel 4965AGN WiFi 802.11n card in it with some cheap U.FL antennas just laying around. The power-supply is an external 19V (3.5A) AC brick that supplies up to 65W. Extremely low powered system (4W TDP from CPU Around 40W max draw from power outlet) and very quiet depending on which components you use! The Intel Atom 1.6GHz is well reviewed by their Netbook brethren so you do not get this barebone unless your expectations of what this machine can do is set correctly. Pros: This is one of the first desktop-based Intel Atom barebone systems to hit the market, versus the ASUS Eee PC which comes with an OS (Linux or XP), HDD, and memory. Low power consumption, less than 40W at full-speed operationĪlternative of vertical stand or horizontal layingĪdditional Information Date First Available Learn more about the MSI Wind PC General BrandĮxternal 65W Power Adapter with Active PFCġ x Compact Flash (CF) Card Expansion Slot ![]()
